The Hippopotamus

  •  Despite his size and weight: 4 metres long, 1.5 metres tall and 4 tons in weight, he can run and gallop quite quickly.
  • He has a large quantity of air in his lungs and gases in his intestines.
  • A baby hippo can swim from birth but he prefers to stay in the water on his mother"s back.
  •  His body also has a lot of fat which is lighter than water. 
  
  • He will eat a total of 200 to 300 kilos of plants a day.

  • The hippopotamus has a large mouth than his.
  • These sense organs are located on the upper part of his head and are very highly developed, so he is always alert.
