The Penguin

  • I can grow up to 1.2 metres in height and can weight up to 40 kilos.

  • I'm a sea bird but i can't fly. I swim and dive with the help of these wings shaped like fins.
  • I look a little clumsy when i walk on my feet.

  • My mate lays an egg which is 12.5 centimetres long and weight 450 grams and she passes it to me.
  • In the meantime, my mate dives into the sea and swims off.

  • I stand in the same position for sixty four days in the company og other members of my colony, so i keep warm and don"t get cold. During this time i don"t eat anything at all and lose 45 per cent of my body weight.
  •
  • I feel most at home in the water. There , i can reach speeds of around forty kilometres an hour.
  • The moulth and blanket of black feathers can changes to blue and yellow.

The Hippopotamus

  •  Despite his size and weight: 4 metres long, 1.5 metres tall and 4 tons in weight, he can run and gallop quite quickly.
  • He has a large quantity of air in his lungs and gases in his intestines.
  • A baby hippo can swim from birth but he prefers to stay in the water on his mother"s back.
  •  His body also has a lot of fat which is lighter than water.

  • He will eat a total of 200 to 300 kilos of plants a day.

  • The hippopotamus has a large mouth than his.
  • These sense organs are located on the upper part of his head and are very highly developed, so he is always alert.
